Terms of Office for Committee Members

Unless otherwise specified in an approved term of reference, committee members are appointed for two-year terms, renewable twice. A member may be re-appointed beyond six years at the discretion of the Chair.  Members of committees who do not contribute and are not effective may be replaced.

Jump Canada is supported by committees. The responsibilities, composition, and reporting relationships of each committee follow. For the Owners, Riders and Competitions Committees, those eligible according to the terms of reference will attend annual forums at which the stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide input and feedback on the direction of Jump Canada to their elected representatives.  The committee members will be elected at the forums in accordance with the terms of reference.  The Jump Canada representatives from each committee will be elected by the committee members.

Each committee is accountable for maintaining productive working relationships with the other committees and with the high performance riders, owners, trainers and competition organizers, and other key external groups, as appropriate.  Each committee is also accountable for developing agendas, arranging for committee meetings, producing minutes of meetings, executing actions arising from deliberations and ensuring the timely flow of information to Jump Canada, Equine Canada and other appropriate stakeholders.

The quorum for all committees is 51% or 10 members, whichever is less.
