Erynn Ballard (Cealy Tetley)November 9, 2009 — Jump Canada has named Erynn Ballard the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for October.

Ballard of Hillsburg, ON, was named the Leading International Lady Rider at the CSI 2*-W Pennsylvania National held in Harrisburg, PA, while her horse, Robin Van Roosendael, a 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding owned by Looking Back Farm, took home the title of Reserve International Horse as a result of their great results throughout the competition held October 8-17, 2009.

Ballard and Robin Van Roosendael started the competition by jumping double clear and placing fourth overall in the $25,000 Pennsylvania Big Jump.  The next day, riding Olivia Mickus’ eight-year-old Canadian Warmblood gelding, Simply Ahorn, Ballard was again clear to finish seventh in the $25,000 National Open Jumper Speed class.

Ballard wrapped up the competition with another excellent performance with Robin Van Roosendael.  The pair placed second to 2004 Olympian Champion Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil riding Let’s Fly in the $75,000 Prix De Penn National Grand Prix.

“This is the first time that I have been named the Leading Lady Rider at a horse show, and anything like that looks good on Canada and highlights the success of our programs,” said Ballard, 29.  “After having a break this summer, Robin has really stepped up for me.  Since Harrisburg was a World Cup, we are aiming to represent Canada at the 2010 World Cup Final.”

Ballard added, “I would like to thank Cavalor for sponsoring the 'Athlete of the Month' program.”

As the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for October, Ballard receives a gift certificate from title sponsor CAVALOR Inc.
