|Ian Millar Named CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for April||| Print ||
The 12th and final week of competition in the 2012 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF) was held March 28 to April 1 in Wellington, FL, and concluded with the grand finale, the $500,000 CSI5* FTI Consulting Finale Grand Prix.
Millar of Perth, ON, and Star Power, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Team Works, were one of only three of the 45 entries to advance to the jump-off over the challenging course designed by Alan Wade of Ireland. All three contenders incurred four faults in the jump-off, making time the deciding factor. With a time of 49.30 seconds, Millar and Star Power placed second to Daniel Bluman of Colombia, who had a slightly quicker time of 48.97 seconds riding Sancha La Silla.
”I am very pleased with Star Power’s performance in the Grand Prix Finale held in Wellington,” said Millar, a nine-time Canadian Olympian. “I, along with my family and clients, have used Cavalor products for our horses for a number of years and I am a big fan.”
Millar continued, “I am pleased to be chosen as the Jump Canada Cavalor ‘Athlete of the Month’ for April.”
As the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for April, Millar receives a gift certificate from title sponsor CAVALOR Inc.
