UPDATE ON PSO AND EQUINE CANADA DISCUSSIONSMarch 26, 2010 - Members have been made aware over the past months, of a conflictual situation involving Equine Canada and provincial affiliate members (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Québec, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland). Recent talks among parties, qualified as open, honest and productive by the mediator, have yielded encouraging news.Six of the provincial federations and Equine Canada are working in concert in order to address different issues and problems that are currently a source of confusion among some members and sport licence holders involved with Equine Canada and the provincia federations. All parties have come to agreement on an action plan aiming to settle these differences. An initial significant step that was made is the agreement that the National Coaching Certification Program and Learn to Ride programs will be delivered by the provincial federations in each of their jurisdictions. Be assured that the presidents of the organisations involved are working to settle the current differences in the best interests of the members and our sport. Members and sport licence holders will be informed as progress is made. |
