Equine Canada launches New Recreational Program with First Series of Grants

September 1, 2010 — With the introduction of a $5 membership fee this year, Equine Canada has launched a new series of recreational programs. Working with Horse Council British Columbia (HCBC), the first new program was to invite British Columbia recreational groups to apply for grants for projects that would benefit recreational and trail riders in the province. The response was outstanding and applications were received for over $100,000 in projects.

Canadian Show Jumping Team Competes at CSI05* Gijon

August 31, 2010 — The Canadian Show Jumping Team comprised of Eric Lamaze, Ian Millar, Jenna Thompson and Keean White is competing at CSIO5* Gijon, ESP, running August 31–September 5.  The feature event is the €60,000 Nations’ Cup team competition on Friday, September 3, 2010.

August 19, 2010 — The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) Combined Driving Event is for four-in-hand drivers and Canada will be represented by two drivers—Darryl Billing of Elmira, ON and Debbie Laderoute of Calgary, AB.
 
Canadian Nations’ Cup Team Announced for Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’

August 19, 2010  — John Anderson of Calgary, AB, Yann Candele of Caledon, ON, Eric Lamaze of Schomberg, ON, and Jonathon Millar of Perth, ON, will form the Canadian Show Jumping Team for the $350,000 BMO Nations' Cup held Saturday, September 11, at the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament in Calgary, AB.
 
Canada’s Young Talent Set to Compete for National Youth Championship Titles

August 17, 2010 — Young talent will be converging in Chilliwack, BC, August 27-28, 2010, to contest the sixth annual Dressage Canada National Youth Championships for the FEI Pony, FEI Children, FEI Junior and FEI Young Rider divisions.

August 11, 2010 — Dressage Canada is pleased to announce Ashley Holzer, Belinda Trussell, Bonny Bonnello and Victoria Winter as the riders who will be representing Canada at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) to be held in Lexington, KY September 25—October 10, 2010.

Canadian Equestrian Community Loses Canadian Olympian Walter Pady

August 11, 2010 — The Canadian equestrian community is saddened to learn of the loss of 1952 Helsinki Olympian and former Chair of the Canadian Equestrian Team, Walter Pady, of Rosemont, ON, following a tragic car accident.
