Chappell and her longtime partner Carpatino, an 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding (CARPACCIO x CORIOLAN), rode to a third place finish in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 66.900% on July 5. The pair also placed third in the Grand Prix class on July 4.

“I worked all winter with Dirk Glitz, and things are really starting to come together,” remarked Chappell, who has owned and trained Carpatino for seven years. “My horse is starting to get more comfortable with the work, and putting it all together in the ring takes time. Carpatino is a fabulous horse and I think that he is going to be really special at this level.”

The international judging panel for both classes included Cara Whitham (FEI O—CAN), Marian Cunningham (FEI I—PER), Volker Moritz (FEI O—GER), Maria Schwennesen (FEI C—AUS) and SEEFRIED Mary (FEI O—AUS).
