Edmonton Gold Rush CDI3* a Success in the West | Print |
August 20, 2010 — Canadian dressage riders were able to add another CDI 3* to their schedule this season with the Edmonton Gold Rush CDI3*, held July 15-18, 2010. The competition was the first of this level to be held in Alberta, and was run in conjunction with the EC Gold competition at Amberlea Meadows, south of Edmonton.

Calgary native Crystal Kroetch and Lymrix, her nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding sired by Loerke,  scooped up top honours in both the Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I tests, scoring 67.632% and 67.579% respectively. Janine Little of Vernon, BC, and Dominic LHF, a nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding that she co-owns with Susanne Berger, finished second in both tests, earning 65.526% in the Prix St. Georges tests and 67.000% in the Intermediaire I. Little and Dominic LHF went on to win the Intermediaire I Freestyle with 69.750%.

Dagmar Fortmuller of De Winton, AB won both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special riding Flanero, her 15-year-old Westphalian gelding sired by Fleurop.

Elexis Ortlieb, 13, of South Edmonton, AB won both the FEI Pony Team and Individual Tests riding her pony, Harrison, at their first CDI 3* competition.

The FEI judges officiating the CDI3* include Axel Steiner (FEI 5* –USA); Mariette Withages (FEI 5* – BEL); Elizabeth McMullen (FEI 5* – CAN); Marian Cunningham (FEI 4* –PER); and Lorraine MacDonald (FEI 4* – CAN).
