March 4, 2010 — The 2010 Dressage Canada Board met face-to-face for the
first time this year at the Equine Canada Convention, held early
February, in Montreal, QC. The group welcomed new members Michaela
Eisengruber, Courtenay Fraser, and Renee Young, as well as two new
athlete representatives — long-time competitors Nancy MacLachlan and
Gina Smith. Also new this year is the addition of three committee
representatives on the board.

March 4, 2010 — Dressage Canada has announced the first five inductees
to its new Hall of Fame. The inaugural Hall of Fame Gala celebrating
these dressage icons is set for Sunday, April 25th, 2010, at Toronto’s
Eglinton Grand Theatre. Net proceeds from the gala will go to Canadian
dressage athletes in their pursuit of excellence at the 2010 World
Equestrian Games (WEG).

February 23, 2010 — Dressage Canada is pleased to announce that they
have nominated Gwynne Rooke, of Stouffville, ON, as the chef d’équipe
for Canada’s dressage team heading to the 2010 Alltech FEI World
Equestrian Games (WEG) at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. The
games run from September 25–October 10, 2010.

February 19, 2010 — Caledon, ON native Jaimie Holland won both the
Young Rider Team and Young Rider Individual tests at the CDI3*
Wellington Spring Classic, held February 12 -14, 2010 in Wellington,
Florida.

February 15, 2010 — Canadian Olympians Ashley Holzer, of Toronto, ON,
and Belinda Trussell, of Stouffville, ON, topped the scoreboard this
weekend at the Wellington Spring Classic CDI3*, in West Palm Beach,
FL. Holzer, on her Olympic mount, Pop Art, won Saturday’s Grand Prix
for Special with 72.170%, while Belinda Trussell, on Anton, came
second, with 67.574%. The riders then went onto the Special on Sunday,
placing first and second again, with Holzer scoring 72.708% and
Trussell following with 68.00%.

 February 10, 2010 — Equine Canada is proud to name Ashley Holzer the 2009 Equestrian of the Year Award.

 February 7, 2010 — Three-time Canadian Olympian Ashley Holzer of
Toronto, ON, and her 2008 Olympic partner Pop Art, finished in fourth
place in the Grand Prix Freestyle test at the $145,000 CDI 5* Exquis
World Dressage Masters Saturday. The evening Freestyle wrapped up the
competition held this weekend, February 4–6, 2010, at the Palm Beach
International Equestrian Center, in Wellington, FL, USA.
